it'll be interesting to see how large a percentage actually do move their money out of SS

yah fine. make it optional. just like they giv u the opportunity to sign away your medicare benefits...

for some reason i'm reminded of the 403b Tax Shelter annuities they offerred back in the late 1980's....I had one for 15 years that i borrowed against 3 times. and it took 15 years for it to double. Anyway, i ultimately defaulted on it when i went through a divorce because i needed the money. Prob wasn't the smartest thing i ever did. But hey. u do what u hav to do. i guess...

The plan itself hasn't even come together yet. It's just a vague Bush plan to kill SS.

The idea that Americans are so idiotic that they would put borrowed, private money that they have to annutize and pay commissions and fees for in the same pot as SS money already resides is so ridiculous many would go for it.

Americans = at times unbelievably stupid
