This was a scoop by CBS from someone willing to leak it. Might not get repeated. That doesn't make it false. I agree. I have no reason to think it's false. I have suspected that perhaps the reason CBS isn't hyping their scoop may be because they reported something classified or otherwise problematic and then had to pull back from it. It's certainly interesting that it's not mentioned in their web articles. News orgs credit each other all the time. I think it's only when they have to, but I take your point. The US Gov seems convinced enough, and we know there are more birds over Iraq than an aviary. Indeed.
