Look in the yellow pages and call a trainer and they will tell you who the trainer in your area is that is able to certify your dog. The gal here with Rude Dog U works with your dog and determines whether or not she will certify.

We want to get our dog involved as a therapy dog. We checked at the VA hospital near here. Apparently there is a certification process. Any advice for me?

No. Sorry. I really don't know anyone who is involved in that.
