What is the purpose of posting this article? It is one man's opinion. Yes, if I had grown up in Bombay, India, I would probably think the United States was paved with gold. He should go back and check it out now. It is rapidly becoming middle class, since their better educated young people can do our high tech jobs for much lower wages. So? This article is not objective. Do you understand statistics as a measuring device? Do you understand the difference between statistics and one person's opinion?

Yes, the poor are fat in America. Is that something to brag about? There is very little fresh fruit or produce in poor neightborhoods, and it is usually going rotten, even though it is very expensive. How proud I am to be an American because of this!

Yes, the poor have televisions, cars and microwaves! Whoooooo! In most of America public transportation is so bad you cannot get to work without a car. It is an absolute necessity of life. The poor do not have really nice cars, and they often have to choose between paying their rent and feeding their children, but by golly they have cars! And microwaves to reheat the horrible, unhealthy food they can afford.

Televisions! The almost unregulated advertising makes us even fatter. Our children know who Ronald McDonald is at two! Studies show that our brainwaves are flatter, like we are in a stupor, watching television, than they are when we sit and do nothing. Again, how proud that makes me to be an American!

Oh, and don't forget the increasing number of people working fulltime now who live at shelters or on the street because they cannot afford to both eat and put a roof over their heads. Golly, sort of like India! How proud we should all be! Let's all wave our American flags in unison now!
