And very beautiful women! But it's very cold there, and the suicide rate is high. I have no idea really exactly which nation scores highest all around re measurable statistics. People from one country usually do not really enjoy going and living in another one, because they have bonds to the country they grew up in. I only wrote those posts because I object to people simply declaring America the best country without being internationalist enough to consider that other countries are doing a lot of things better than we are. I would hope we could learn from the fact that we have some really serious problems in America. If you are white, rich and well insured, these things probably never occurred to you, but as our good jobs disappear and health care becomes unaffordable for many, I think we should figure out how to make America better. When I was much younger, I had a short-term temporary assignment at an import company in San Francisco. It was a French company that imported French delicacies for the restaurant trade. The office was in horrible disarray, no one spoke very much English, the employees were mean slave drivers, the foodstuffs were totally unappetizing, and the whole place smelled funny. Within a few hours I totally hated it. And I didn't want to hear one more whiny person speaking French! I left at lunch and asked my agency to place me just about anywhere else. I thought that is probably what it felt like to be in a foreign country where you didn't feel at home. So whether America is the "best" doesn't mean that most of us would be any happier (or happy at all) in most other places that are "better" statistically.
