I see -- the Vietnamese should be grateful we did not kill them all. I guess the rest of the world should feel the same gratitude: We have shown mercy by not killing them all as well. As for the millions of Vietnamese who died, well, these things happen. The Vietnamese have moved on and now focus on their economy -- and we have moved on to invade and bomb new countries. Now we make a point of not counting the dead -- lest somebody point up the uncomfortable conclusion that we are still in the business of killing large numbers of civilians in pursuit of our own political agenda.
