Just returned from my Las Cruces, New Mexico offroad trip. My wife and I fell in love with Las Cruces. The people are SO FRIENDLY and I love that SW construction. Get this, we looked at a practically new home 3/2 2 car garage, all upgraded appliances, jet bath tub in master bedroom, security systems ETC ETC ETC (HICKORY CABINETS IN KITCHEN). Total asking price $219k but r/e taxes 1400 a year and property insurance 461 a year. AND GET THIS, Veterans get a BIG DISCOUNT on THOSE taxes. If you eat mexican you can get a meal for about $2. Our average cost for full course meals was about $10 a person. Gas cheaper then Fla. Offroad trails there are VERY TOUGH. Their Hard and Extreme trails are TOO MUCH for me not trailering my jeep and having to drive it HOME. The ONLY negatives I can mention is that its very DUSTY in the afternoon when the wind picks up and that DRY HEAT takes some getting used too for a FLORIDIAN. Sucks the moisture right out of your body. jdn
