The trend you state is irrelevant to my point. You might consider it more important than my point but it doesn't refute the point, it is a different issue.

I'm curious if you can acknowledge this trend, without the buts. i.e. your style is not to avoid the forest (big picture trend), but instead you focus on the tree (your issue with how something is communicated rather then getting to a higher level and looking at the big picture trend.)

Its not just "how something is communicated". Your original statement was simply false. You could substitute other words and still it would be false. Maybe you meant to talk about this trend you speak of rather than post what you did post, but I can't read minds I can only respond to what you actually post.

You do realize you claimed, "I don't know why you would even consider it doubtful that the church does have relevance to many American woman. Tens of millions of them are Catholic, and at least millions of those are devoted Catholics."

Um, having tens of millions of Catholics is irrelevant to saying that the church has relevance to many American woman. Is your definition of American woman only tens of millions?

"The Church has relevance to American women" - Does not equal - "The Church has relevance to all American women".

Is your definition of American woman only those that have a derogatory attitude about themselves ("women aren't equal" belief) or maybe you only include women that are hypocritical ("women are equal, but I belong to the Catholic church because I'm a hypocrit

My definition of American women is female adults who are citizens of the US. Maybe you could throw in permanent legal residents as well. It has nothing to do with being having a derogatory attitude about themselves, or with being hypocritical, or with being a member of the Catholic church.

For that matter being a member of the Catholic church has nothing to do with "a derogatory attitude about themselves" or being hypocritical.
