So I suspect your romanticizing over life in the gutter. Getting down there with the real people, as it really is, the dark world we all live in as only you and your friends truly know it to be. Because living amongst such people makes you real and everyone else not. The only thing real about your friends is they're really screwed up. You say you associate with your crack addict friends not to partake but to "laugh through this crazy world", that's sad to say the least. To find humor in others misery and to cap that you call them friends gives it a sick twist. What you do is enable them through your inaction and social acceptance. They your friends make their world dark and you find no right or wrong in their actions. No wonder you see the world as dark for you everything is already gray to start with.
