Davis understood how it works in CA..........Arnold sadly does not. I'm afraid he's about to get his butt kicked.

Davis was actually part of the problem, given how much expenditures have grown by leaps and bounds under his watch. Of course, those were during the "good times," so anyone could have made the same mistake Davis did.

Pretty much every state in the union had growing expenditures during the good times in the 90s......after all, the expansion went on for a long time.

As for Arnold, I think the media is overplaying his demise simply because of the poll numbers, which to me are more reflective of the pessimistic state of the nation rather than due to anything specific with Arnold himself. Of course, unions are declaring victory as Arnold backs off on a number of his proposals, but I'm pretty sure in the end, Arnold will get enough done to shake things up in Sacramento.

I wouldn't count on it. You don't kick your opponents in CA....not only are they mean but very clever and media savvy. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
