Conservative used to mean small government but aggressive military, two factors that were never meant to co-exist. I always figured a conservative was someone who never wanted to try anything new or do anything a different way. Liberals were progressives.

Now, conservative means that you want to stick your nose in other peoples' business to make sure they are keeping to moral standards you don't keep to yourself. And Liberal means being a wimp and whining all the time.

That does it. I'm joining the Whigs or the MugWumps.

OK, fair enough. There's the EXPECTATION that Harper will be better at cutting gov't than the Liberals have been, but you're right. Until he's in office, we won't know.
