I like that one too. God sends two angels to Sodom in search of ten righteous men. A crowd gathers outside Lot's home demanding that he send out the two angels that they might bugger them. Frightened at the prospect of the angels getting buggered on his front lawn, he offers them his virgin daughter instead. The crowd enthusiastically accepts. Crazy stuff.

Great doings in those days.... You left out the part about Lot's wife becoming a pillar of SALT! For full discussion of this, I have located a site for your fullest instruction: angelfire.com EDITORIAL COMMENT: Don't you find it REMARKABLE that millions of people follow Teachings proclaimed by a great Teacher who lived 2000+ years ago where: -- there is NO written record of the Teachings of the Teacher from that time--the original tradition was Oral (passed on from person to person) -- the actual WRITTEN Teaching dates from HUNDREDS of years later and (according to good scholarship) OMITS major elements of the ESOTERIC Teaching (which are in fact the CORE of the Teaching) and INSERTS new elements of EXOTERIC Teaching. -- Many of the statements in the "Good Book" are entirely understandable as myth and folklore from ancient times, but which (not surprisingly) DRASTICALLY disagree with relatively solid Science (such as the age of the earth) and yet despite this (and much more) MILLIONS OF PEOPLE view such material as the unequivocal WORD OF GOD and are called upon to believe every word of it as factually TRUE (and they DO)! And even more astounding they can take some element of Teaching such as the Ten Commandments (containing arguably valuable moral precepts--such as THOU SHALL NOT KILL) and then FORGET that they are supposed to believe and act upon every word of the Good Book, but instead Support their State that goes out and murders tens of thousands of innocent people in War............. It all reminds me of the first line of one of my favorite Patti Smith songs: Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not MINE..... Namaste! Tree Rat (still trying that on for size)
