I think she was flying.

I had to google to see what the heck a Popeye Special
was and found out that it is a salad.

If she flew on a salad, I'd say there could be serious
problems.

Everybody knows that lettuce does not hold up well under
turbulence. And radishes aren't much help either.

One time I flew a three bean salad to Martha's Vineyard.
It wasn't a pleasant experience.

My grandfather was a tail gunner in the war for a very
short time after his Chef's Salad with Light Vinegarette
was shot down over Stuttgard. Landed in a tree and
stayed there until the allied troops cut him down.

If I'm correct, I believe Polvo used to fly an old egg
salad crop duster in Albuquerque after his days of
working the trading post. He hasn't been the same since.
Now he sticks to sailboats.
