They tried to privatize (for BigOil only leaving out both Iraqis and Americans) under Bremmer. It's hard to tell, though, if that was simply a show and they're just finding a less public way to privatize. Bush's executive order immunized ALL oil related activities against any public oversight, interference, etc. How Republicans can still blatantly pronounce that we're in Iraq for ANY REASON OTHER than to fill up the coffers of Chevron et al, is beyond the pale. That kind of talk is blatantly immoral.
