I have said I don't know what the digital trade units will be based on - maybe some kind of global work unit related to a global wage you store in your credit card related to your individual productive contribution to the borg - but I know for certain - like the sky is blue certain - that in the near future 12 billion people will not be getting online and trading mp3's - ebooks - video files - PC games and any other VIRTUAL good you can think of that all of us use based on shiny pieces of metal going back and forth on UPS planes. Nor will they do it for most REAL goods traded on Ebay - if you believe that - you nor anyone else have made a case why. To call me an advocate of fiat money does not explain to me why you think in a few years with ubiquitous computer access by 12 billion people - shiny metal pieces or green paper pieces going back and forth on an airplane is how trade will be conductced for the majority of digital and real goods that are traded on a daily basis. I download 40 mp3 files a day - I don't send a metal piece or paper piece anywhere to do that - if I had to send a metal piece or paper piece to do that, I couldn't download 40 mp3's a day - what you advocate is an impossibility to the future of trade between entertainment and information seeking borg. In everquest - an online game by Sony entertainment - many economists will have a chance to really study virtual currency and trade.
