Amy J, re "you missed the blurb about the "new PROPOSED options.""

Was there a helpful link to that blurb posted on this thread?

re "You may not consider $23 the "stumble price," but a dozen Intel folks that represent a broad selection of heavy stockowners across Intel, certainly do."

I suppose those "dozen Intel folks" were in the blurb I missed, so I'm at a disadvantage. However, while I may not have the insider knowledge that those dozen people have, I think I have the advantage of being less biased.

Besides you're totally ignoring the $23 exercise relative to the ~$19 exercise of 2003.

re "Intc underperformed 10% compared to Nasdaq over this same period."

For a stock with beta = 2, I don't think 10% is significant.

re "Well, a grant price of $29 certainly would more than doubly ensure the compensation program avoided rewarding for last year's stumble."

Grants at Intel at an exercise price 25% above the market price just aren't going to happen IMO. Arguing for a reduced quantity of options would at least have the ring of plausibility.
