Nixon was evil but smart, just like LBJ. Bush is evil but dumb. I still don't know if I prefer my evil guys to be dumb or smart. Nixon was a crook all his life, hence the Tricky Dick nickname. He lied about Helen Gahagan Douglas in his first Congressional campaign, calling this refined woman "The Pink Lady." He lied about bribes taken in The Checkers speech. Agnew was a fellow corrupt traveler. But the big difference is that Nixon was a poor kid who lied and cheated his way to the top while Bush was a rich kid who started life on third base and still brags about hitting that triple.
