JJ, Welcome back. uw A ground pounder's worst nightmare is an airborne or ground based forward air controller(FAC) that has a two dimensional view Totally agree. Army Pathfinders have a better understanding (than any ground FAC) of how to integrate fires and are better trained in managing ALL of the battlefield air and indirect fire assets normally available including TAC AIR, Helicopter gunships, Redleg, and unit mortars. The number of Army SF Pathfinder graduates has skyrocketed for that reason.
