No, you will be the 'lessor of the evils', the ones you vote for their lessees ... check your dictionary, under 'lease' -g- .... that's the same problem i've had with Harper, the quote you speak of, both in the apparent priorities expressed and the way he expressed them, it was way out of line for anybody who wants to lead this country ... keep in mind however, that was a soundbyte selected out by television editors, it did not reflect the overall picture he was presenting, which was considerably less unreasonable [though still not to my taste at all, just somewhat closer the mark than anybody else] .... he was taken to task for that comment by his own party, fwiw, you won't see him saying that again

How do you feel about Chrétien in the same session, saying he'd have us brown-nosing Chirac? ... that was fully as disgusting as the soundbyte impression of Harper's, imho

It is the job of the loyal opposition to oppose the government, keep looking for ways to criticise it, this is the adversary system of debate that has the same oddities in our courts but seems to provide the same incentive to bring out any and all relevant detail .... just as governments do their job poorly at times, so do oppositions, they just oppose for the sake of opposing, i think they all are and always will be guilty of this at times .... you can turn this same argument on to the Liberals when the PCs were in power, the PCs when the Liberals were in, etc .... just look at the policies they criticised, and then continued when in power themselves ... oh hypocrisy, thy name is politics

But we have no superior alternative, so we plug away, looking for lighter shades of grey ... así es la vida [that's c'est la vie in english]
