I think the problem is deeper and different that you think. I think that we have a problem that there is only one kind of reporter in Canada, a Liberal/socialist one. The only conservative voice in Canada was the Post, and now the Liberal Aspers own it. So we hear very little about problems in Canada but constantly are bombarded with problems from someplace else.
It is so much less controversial to keep Canadians riled up about Palestinians or Iraqis or almost any other problem than it is to address and actually discuss a problem like Hospital Wait times, or the cost of health care, and what exactly is costing the money. There are many many lucrative positions that the politicians use to pay off their friends, and we don't discuss that either. So until we get a media that is not controlled by Liberal Party members we will continue to have problems........

It seems to me that Canada is under attack from the US in a form of economic warfare and our own Federal Liberal Government has been bought off by American interests.
