Bwhaha, fish on the island - you always make me laugh Jay - you are such a great guy - laughter the best medicine! my indian friend went to the woods in north america - upper part of the USA where lots of deer and elk still roam and very few people - he said this world is gonna blow up soon and he is living in the woods now with his sniper rifle and crossbow last I heard - like a mr eric rudolph - the guy that blew up the olympics - I know maybe some professional career people on this board here think it is fantasy - but yes indeed you can go live in the woods like an ape and last 5 years. He told me when he hears on the solar powered shortwave that china and america start the war - he will contact me and let me know where he is at - unfortunately I do not think it will be to HELP me - but to use me as food - so I don't think I will go join him - hehe. I heard some people during y2k saying they were going to new zealand - that they would survive nukular meltdown because no one would bomb SHEEP - but I saw this movie with gregory peck called ON THE BEACH and everybody died - even the aussie new zealenders. Even my friend in the woods would have died in that movie - the floating clouds of radiation - you too on your island with fish - but that guy down in his fallout shelter - the Mogambo Guru - with his 30 years of MRE's and arsenal of weaponry and radiation suits - he gonna repopulate the planet Dr. Strangelove style. I saw this movie once with George C Scott privateislandsonline.com Check it out - hilarious - and they even have a few islands you can buy for cheap - but why bother if it gets that bad - whoever has the big guns is gonna get the island.

One big problem as I see it is the small impoverished places that lost a lot when they gave up their industry that provided goods for local consumption behind high tariff walls in return for the promise of globalism was lost to competition, lots of it from China. But even these places are doing ok due to the stepped up remittances from overseas workers in the big countries. But if the big countries crash remittances dry up. By the way I see you are doing your part by the employment of the Filipina who works in your household. <G> Its a good thing. Slagle
