It sounds like small pox to me. I remember Dad poking us multiple times with a needle for that, but don't remember pain.. All the others were either syringes, or sugar cubes for polio. I think that was Sabin's improvement on Salk, cuz the first were by syringes. Waste of a good sugar cube.
