You can ask for vaccines (such as the flu shot) that don't have the mercury preservative (which is actually called something like thrimo-something) but it's extraordinarily hard to get your doctor to place an order for you because the health care system isn't set up to place orders for consumers. Which is lame.

They give tons more shots to kids than when I was a child. We didn't have hardly any of the shots they get today. Makes you wonder, because it's been only in the last ten years that there's been a huge surge in autism.

Something is definitely doing it though - and something in the past decade or so.
