No one can follow the Bible "literally". The Bible is subject to all kinds of interpretations and has been rewritten alot. In fact there is no proof any of it was written by who they say wrote. Also much of the Bible is obvious just myths and not to be taken literally. The Bible never mentions any prediction of modern times. Everything it was talking about was 1500-2000-5000 years ago or a basic generality. But the one thing we know is that Christ stressed love, peace, forgiveness, otal charity and tolerance, not divisive war-mongering, profiteering, hypocrisy, prosperity christianity or politics. Christ was a-political and way above politics. He was also in most ways a far-left liberal when it came to basic life issues. When was the last time a rightwinger turned the other cheek, love his enemy, gave away all his money to the poor or tried to be a peacemaker?

No honest person can take the Bible literally. Otherwise you'd believe that women are an inferior species. And we all know we are no match for women, especially ones with great bods. gg History has proven that women can make fools of any man. Also you'd believe that women are either virgins or whores. Not true. Just a myth. The Bible is filled with myths and symbolism. But if you do take the Bible literally, you'd have to become a far left pacifist liberal happy hippie type living in a commune. That's what Jesus taught. To share everything you have and love everyone. Peace on earth and goodwill to men.
