Just smelling the place is abuse. I think living on top of shit is, at least by my definition, abuse. There's no grass, just mountains of manure, and urine that has leached in to the ground for years. There is no way to misunderstand what you see in the feed lot off I-F. It's shit and meat on the hoof. They probably aren't out there assaulting the cows, but who'd want to go out into that air? I've never actually seen any live people out there- and the people in cars drive past as fast as possible, because the stench is overwhelming. Beef- it's what stinks like Hell at the Harris feed lot. Ick. No guessing needed. If someone kept their dog in a kennel full of crap, with no grass, and simply fed the dog it's meals, but left it in the crap filled run 24/7 I'd call that abusive. Wouldn't you? Apparently they are violating effluent standards- no surprise there: google.com
