Let us not argue over issues on which we agree. Yes...it is a damn shame that all the money and power is in the hands of the few. There have been many attempts to change that by thoughtful humans who were motivated by a combination of disgust and hope (and sometimes ignorance). But so far we have not found the perfect balance.

The best answer I had was from a deceased friend of mine. He took people off the street and fed them and gave them shelter. He did not give his money to the drug companies or the other organizations supported by the drug companies.

My mom died of cancer at the age of 49 after ten kids (who lived) and punching bread. But I would not give a dime to the cancer society. They can all go F--- themselves. If I wish to help someone I can do so. Why should I do it through a third, fourth, or fifth party?

The main cause of cancer is civilized society. The main cause of climate change is trillions of planes, trains, and automobiles. It will all have to collapse before it can be rebuilt. Humanity must stumble along behind the money bags--chained by their greed, their need, and their ignorance. You cannot change it except as my friend changed it.

In the meantime, join a church or a political party (if you are so inclined) and pretend they are not being run by assholes out for their own preservation and power.

Surely, there is much in the world that is very unethical. But it is not difficult for you to be helpful rather than hurtful, is it? So, let us start there. We cannot control the neighbour. We can only be kind and helpful and supportive of reason and cooperation.

Thompson (in Canada) has about 20 billion. The next biggest has about ten. Is Thompson smarter or better than you or I? Of course not. Is he a decent human being? I really don't know.

Because Augustine had a homosexual experience and then decided it was "wrong" because he was steeped in neurosis and religious guilt--does that MAKE it "wrong". This is an illustration. I am as straight as a knitting needle. But I am no better than gays and lesbians. Society decides what is right and wrong for the group. I decide what is right and wrong for me. Nowadays, masturbation is ok for society--thank God. It was always ok for me--and everyone else with half a brain (yes...that is what I have).
