Yes, I totally agree! I have very little tolerance for spoiled pets or spoiled children, although I must say parents who spoil their children must endure them forever, so I guess there is justice in the world after all. I was very careful not to spoil my child. I was consistent with her, did not reward the bad behavior that children have when they are testing you, established the reliable daily routine that children find comforting, and in general was a kind but conservative parent, which is what I think children like. We did not have a tv until she was in school, and no computers or tvs were allowed in her room later, because I think things like that should be closely monitored. No video games! When she turned 21 she went right out and got an Xbox . . .
