Wow, are you gullible. The US dictated that Baathists be eliminated from the government. The US dictated the timetable, the rules, the regulations and the campaigning (where did THAT money come from for TV spots?) for this 'election.'

The US failed to make Iraq safe enough to vote. That's where all the 'heroic' purple finger bs comes from. It shouldn't have been HEROIC to have voted, it should have been SAFE. The US is making Iraq (or trying to LOL) into its perfect fascist 51st state.

It's the experimental petri dish that they want the US to resemble before Bush becomes totally lame.

In addition:

1. Candidates names weren't disclosed. That makes campaigning and VOTING for them really difficult. That led voters to pick up on the larger parties alone.

2. Bremmer's rules for the election made over representation of Kurds (much safer in the north) and under representation of Sunnis.

3. Bremmer's election commission appointees had the absolute right to kick anyone off of or prevent anyone from getting on the ballots.

4. I ask again. WHO PAID FOR groups like Allawi's to run slick TV ads? That would be us.

5. Bremmer privatized Iraq...for forty years. 'Investors' can sue Iraq if Iraqis try to take this back.

GET A CLUE! Why do you think Iraqis are angry enough to kill us, their neighbors and themselves if life is so peachy after Saddam?
