I am getting really tired of discussing the same thing every day!

I think the fundamental difference some of us have with your POV is that we don't view animals as co-equals with humans, entitled to the same protections as humans. That's not to say that abuse of animals is ok. It's not. But in my POV, at least, animals serve a function on this planet. That function, at least wrt domesticated animals, is to serve as a source of labor and food for mankind.

You believe differently, which is your right. I will not convince you, nor you me.

I'll gladly move on to some other topic if you care to.

Grainne, if you look at the conversations over the last few weeks, I think you'll see that people are very open to what you have to say even if they disagree with it. They are simply offering alternative views, and they are no more adverse to considering your views than you are to theirs. In fact, you've shown me a couple of things that I object to, and given the chance I will do my best to stop them. Mulesing is one such.

So, when you say "life is much more exciting when people stay open to looking at various subjects in new ways" it applies to you as well. I don't think you've moved an inch toward accepting any of the points that I've made to you.

To change the subject, I would like to talk about something new. One of my dreams is to build a cedar strip canoe, like my college classmate Greg Morley does. They are beautiful, a work of art, and very functional.
