All the major countries are having the same problem. Besides I would target foreign companies like Siemans or Nestlés....just the ones who are American trying to avoid paying taxes.

Once they leave the country they become a foreign company.

I am sure it can be structured so it doesn't violate GATT.

I'm not so sure, and even if you could put in place some structure that manages to twist itself around the rules, it would violate the idea behind those rules, the idea of expanding free trade in goods and services.

The solution seems fairly simple........those Americans who do not want to be subject to the laws of the US should give up their citizenship.

As you said earlier in this conversation, we are not talking about individuals we are talking about corporations.
