An early result.

Labour have held Sunderland South with a reduced majority.

These early results have often been wrong predictors though.

I'm expecting to see Labour trounced at a few Labour "safe seats" at least. The Iraq war making a difference. Maybe they will win the election (I make no prediction) but I expect to see Labours confidence at least shaken.

The Liberal Democrats are the only "anti Iraq war" party of note. Interesting to see what the right wing Conservative party does along with the Liberal Democrats. I think a Labour win is by no means an assured thing as the poll surveys suggest.
