Given that you would have a gap down on the chart if prices weren't adjusted, and because you can't trade the stock at prices before the gap down once it goes ex div, StockCharts.com adjusts previous prices. This is the same as for a split adjusted stock - the site is a technical analysis site and so a gap down on the chart after a split or distribution etc would screw up the indicators but good. Not what a technical analysis site wants to show.
