Feels like a boom is getting underway up here in upstate NY. I first visited here in the middle of the recession in 2001 and moved here in 2002. The number of coffee stores in downtown has like tripled or more in the last few months and there is construction and rennovation new stores etc. cropping up everywhere at an increasing rate. This is a long-term depressed area, especially the town I live in.... More fancy cars etc. I saw a VW Phaeton for the first time on Wednesday. Don't know why anyone would buy one. Parked outside City Hall. Like an inflated Passat.
