neocon jews arent zionists because if they were they would be in israel, not here. You fall into that trap. Jews are less a religion today than a nationality. Substitute italian for jewish and that defines the american jewish majority view. IF italy was under siege from al quaeda, italian americans would be asking for the US to help vigorously. Israel has been under siege since its inception. UN made a ruling that created a jewish state thru partition and arabs went to war and are still at war. American jews sympathise with Israel. Israel is a democracy. That helps too. Because if israel was run by mussolini like italy once was, jews would have the same problem as italo-amerians did during WW2 when they fought in europe against their brethern. So UN mandate and democracy are what drives support among americans and especially american jews. Having said all of that, yes Virginia there are crazy jews both in Brooklyn, in Israel and on the WB and Gaza. Truth be told these folks are victims too, because anyone with a brain should have know that greater israel was unworkable and using settlers as chips was a failed policy originally of Labor. mike
