Have you ever been to Benton Harbor?>> I fished out of there in 1979 with an idiot neighbor Al, who had an 18' trihull. 16 miles out in Lake Michigan, two 170' of downrigger cable out and here comes the Coast Guard announcing a fast moving storm that will hit at 9:15am. The 40' boats fire up and head in and Al says it's only 8am so no hurry. Ten minutes later I see lightning and ask Al if he set his watch forward crossing from Illinois into Michigan. HUH? got me to cranking the cannonballs up. 16 miles of 45 mph in 4' waves running in to miss the bad stuff.
