Try telling that to Rove. During Poppy's campaign, he used BabyBush's 'evangelical credentials' (Methodist version of the 12 steps I guess) to WIN THE WHITE HOUSE.

The rightwing fundamentalist freakshow minority has taken over the White House and the Congress. Who else could have gotten Bush out of Crawford to sign a bill over Schiavo?

Who else?

The religious right is a clear and present danger to American democracy and sanity. If you read the book "Salvation for sale" and others, you learn that not only are many of the evangelical leaders greedy scam artists and/or hypocrites, but that if they were ever in power they'd rip up the constitution and try to force their brand of wacky religion and morality on the rest of us.

Time to put this white trashy militant minority back in the closet it popped out of. Barry Goldwater was right about them, they are not the people to be dictating morality in this country. They are more like a wiggy religious cult than real Christians. Christ taught love, peace, charity and tolerance. The religious right only pays lip service to those four principles. Often they represent just the opposite. Hatred, war, greed and intolerance.
