Re: I guess there is good spying and bad spying.

There is at a minimum, good writing about spying. If you haven't read James Bamford's book "Body of Secrets", amazon.com,
I highly recommend it.

Bamford discusses the Echelon espionage system created by the NSA. And then he went on to describe how this software was abused by the government to spy on commercial competitors of American corporations and hand over the results to these private profit-making corporations. Dare we say this had absolutely nothing to do with using U.S. taxpayer money for national security purposes.

Needless to say, the European Union and its members didn't find this ridiculously vulgar behavior to be at all amusing.

Just one more example of "why they hate us". An example that the deceitful U.S. corporate media made sure was never made known to the public.
