How can Los Angeles residents even afford the property taxes? It should come as no surprise that the number of home owners who have not paid their property taxes is rising quickly. As I have spoken to new home owners I have learned that it is less expensive for them to incur the penalty for failing to pay the property taxes on time than it is to miss their mortgage payment, obtain a cash advance on their credit card or other means of conserving money. Apparently the County does not act to foreclose on your home for five years so they find this the least expensive way to raise money. All of these home owners who have not paid their property tax have assured me they will pay the taxes the next time they refinance so they have no anxiety about not paying the taxes on their home. .

You can move your tax base with you in LA County so if you wish to move that is a plus for you. I as you have been in my house for many years. This house has been remodeled a couple of times and right now I am thinking about redoing portions of it but the cost is outrageous and the inconvenience cost is another one I dread. Many houses in my area are just ripped down and new ones built so the shape of the landscape about me is changing into large houses with as many as 7 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms which I think is ridiculous. Roman tub era vbg Prop taxes are high when you compare them to those of us who fall under prop 13. I wonder what will happen when houses decline and taxes should do so with them.
