After some thought I really can't blame Lou Gheridy for his report and I have to question Management's reasoning for having the Analyst Meeting so soon after the earnings report and CC. The CC is sort of a State of The Union report, what could have changed significantly in the 3 weeks since the CC?
I guess I was secretly hoping Q was holding back some exciting news for whatever reason. But now I see it was only wishful and delusional thinking on my part.

It also seems that they didn't adequately address their key problems areas. Such as why are they getting their butts kicked in LA so bad. Why is Unicom sucking wind so bad. Why has not a single non cdma carrier adopted Brew and do they still think that they will get a GSm carrier to go with Brew.
Do they see their CSM buissness increasing in the near future which would mean new networks being installed which means Q's customer base is expanding rather than stagnanting.

I'm sure they talked about EVDO & DORA which I couldn't care less about. They will not take market share, Dora may temporarily impact earnings with some 1X and Do upgrades but that's it. Cingular and China Mobile(hopefully sooner rather later) will have far more impact on earnings. Besides it seems that DORA will be out later than HSDPA, which I'm scratching my head about.

The other Item I'm scratching My head about and it's more like pulling my hair out. Is why the CDMA world leader is in last place in WCDMA and why we still don't have a single phone in the largest WCDMA carrier in the world's lineup. I say this because it was Q who broke the news early in 04 that DOCO was going to migrate to release 99 by end of 04 and that Q was working very closely with them to accomplish this goal. Now Eric tells me that Q hopes to have "A" phone as in one phone in the DOCO lineup by the end of this year. AND hopefuly two phones by 1st QTR 06. This has to be some sort of joke.
Between DOCO and VOD KKI they will be selling close to 2M phones per month in the second half and we'll only have one phone in that market if any at all.

Unless Eric can explain some technical reason why Q the World leader in CDMA is last into DOCO and last in general in WCDMA I have to say it's unacceptable and poor performance on Q's part and very disappointing. I know Q states that they have more WCDMA chips than anyone else and they are more integrated than anyone else but the fact remains they are in LAST PLACE.
I was always confident that Q would get close to if not achieve their 50% WCDMA goal but now I'm in the skeptics camp.

Sorry for the rant but it's early and I couldn't fall back asleep<g>
