re: I bet he could if he said today that we were pulling completely out of iraq. and he was taking 300 billion/year that we save on defense and investing it in america and oil independence et al..

And if he proposed a significant consumption tax/conservation credit program, and a full frontal assault on energy efficiency, the futures price of oil would come down immediately.

Don't hold your breath... we still have 3+ years to the next administration.
