Exactly. Dems won big when they preached populism which is why Edwards' stump speech is so rousing. The problem is the Republicans know that the longer they're in office and the more damage they do, the less people like them. That's why they're all hyped up about the filibuster thing. They're going to use it to cement in judges AND cement in legislation. They say they're not touching legislation with the nuclear option but Republicans are liars. They are feverishly looking for things they can codify to prevent them from losing power no matter what the voters say: - taking over the media (see PBS, NPR) - taking over voting (see Diebold, ES&S) - bankrupting the treasury so that only the rich will bother with politics while everyone else scrambles to keep solvent - starting a war with Iran (and, who knows, maybe nuking NK if it tests a nuke) and declaring martial law Nothing is beyond these criminals. Nothing.
