Separation of Church and State, I would say, which was the doctrine of the Founding Fathers and the cornerstone of the US Constitution.

As I am sure you know, I am not religious in any shape or form so I would also be the target of those who maintain that "approved" belief goes hand-in-hand with one's right to political power.

Anyway, and in my opinion, these Evangelists, Baptists, "reborns" etc by bringing 17th century standards into modern life are making not only fools of themselves but a laughing-stock of the US. Instead of being the "enlightened", progressive country it was, America has now become a fundamentalist country steeped in bigotry, self-righteousness, piety and damnation.
