Government = 100% separate from Religion, any religion, all religions.

That saves both the government AND religion. That Dobson, Robertson, Reed and the rest of the fundamentalist fake christians don't care about the history of government and religion is just one of their nasty tendencies.

I don't see government going into churches and telling preachers what to say (you MUST preach evolution on an equal par with creationism!) but religion is most assuredly doing that to government. Kansas children may never be the same.

If someone made up a religion that says, 'steal from thy neighbor' then government steps in when someone is stealing from their neighbor. That's obvious.

Otherwise, who the heck cares? If a church wants to teach its followers that the earth is 12 days old and will be detroyed next week, that's up to the idiot followers to believe or not believe.

It's called freedom.

The Founding Fathers were 100% against ANY religion pushing its way into the US government. Especially extremist religions like the evangelicals.

They knew what a threat that could be to democracy and freedom of religion. Freedom of religion means no one religion is favored. It also protects the rights of those who don't want to follow any religion.

The religious right evangelicals are a clear and present danger to democracy. No doubt about it. Don't underestimate them, and never assume they are loving or Christ-like. For the most part they are vicious, unethical and extremely demanding and often practice the opposite of what Christ taught.
