This is just code for "Let's get the other side behind our agenda," which also explains why it isn't being done.

I've read through some of the bills being passed and their legislative history, such as the bankruptcy bill. There are a lot of constructive ideas coming from "the other side," but the lock-step thinking majority in power simply casts them aside. No wonder the rhetoric is escalating, because there is little else the Dems CAN do.

Please, can't we all just get along? And we'll get along if you do it OUR way!

I agree -- they should argue vociferously for pulling the troops home NOW, cutting military spending NOW, stopping the destruction of the protection of our civil rights -- eliminate the ID card baloney -- repeal the patriot act, start saving some dollars by cutting down on all the anti-terrorism propaganda BS.
