The coming generational battle - Social Security - It would be nice if the Democratic leadership would make ANY proposal, interesting or not, on this topic. While people older than 50 may not see a problem, people younger than 40 know that they will be screwed by the greed of the baby boom generation that is in line in front of them.

The coming political battle is not Republicans vs. Democrats, it is a generational battle between self-indulgent baby boomers wanting to continue to feed at the expense of future generations and younger generations that are starting to realize what a raw deal the status quo is for them. It is my opinion that the Democratic leadership is on the wrong side of this battle - they are siding with the aging baby boomers and against the younger generations. That strategy has the potential to be a real disaster for the future of the party.
