It doesn't matter to me that hemp is illegal in a lot of places because there is no real reason that it should be. It is impossible to get high from hemp or make it into the kind of crop drug dealers sell. I think the takeover of national forests by marijuana dealers is horrible, but that it a totally different subject than help, which has hundreds of very good uses and could save us from our energy crisis and possible mitigate global warming:

Hemp (well pot, really) does great things for people who smoke it. It reduces nausea for cancer patients better than anything else we have, it relieves glaucoma, and it really calms some people down- and there are a lot of people out there who appear to be in need of some serious calming. Since it is such a useful plant, and seems to be at least as beneficial as alcohol, I'd say we need to legalize it, and soon. Throwing people in jail for pot is stupid, wasteful, and cruel.
