They do not rely only on obstructing. In summary, Republicans are more than the sum of their resentments.

I think it is fair to say that when the right was in the minority, they were objecting on ideological grounds. The Dems lost theirs when the Berlin wall fell.

Of course, the left will not agree. :>)

Perhaps more than the sum of their resentments, but there's an enormous sum of resentment alternately driving and constipating them. You can focus on the "more" part if you like, but the resentment still permeates everything.
