If God's purpose is beyond Man's ability to understand than why are we having this conversation? None of us including Lincoln has a clue what God is thinking. However, given the intellect needed to create universe, I am pretty safe in betting that his agenda is not ours and visa versa.

???? Nuances, Steve would say. "Bahnhof" your German friends would comment. No clue what you mean...

"None of us...has a clue what God is thinking."

God has given many many clues to his thinking and his feelings. The Old and New Testaments are filled with these clues and the revelations in these inspired writings are essential for an glimpse into God's mind and heart. So how do we open up the scriptures to get glimpses into the heart and mind of God? The scriptures are closed to those without faith in Christ as the Messiah and sacrifice for our sins. Our sins blind us to things of God. When we have faith in Christ, the cloud of sin is removed and our spiritual eyes can receive the things of God.

The sins of mankind create a chasm between God and man that can only be bridged by the sacrifice of Christ---the lamb of God!
