Teaching kids to think for themselves

1.kindness 2. politeness and tolerance (which is NOT the same thing as "acceptance") 3. education (especially reading and math literacy) 4. being healthy- trying to eat right, sleep enough to be awake in school, and be careful with life, since it is fragile. I think that's about all I advocate. I thought of one other thing- I DO try to encourage students to look at issues from all sides.
