All smearvet claims have been discredited completely. Deal with it. Smearvets was nothing but a 100% dishonest radical rightwing smear campaign paid for by DElay's friends. In fact the only "witness" smearvets used who actually served with Kerry on his boat was the one disgruntled wacko Gardner who murdered the kid on the sampan. Kerry wanted him court-martialed for not holding his fire after being ordered to. So gardner has feared and hated Jk ever since. Gardner has been an emotional basket case since too, so not a credible witness. He has a major ace to grind and something very important to cover up because he was guilty of a war crime. Even fellow smearvets admit Gardner is very unstable and emotionally damaged. But now after 35 years Gardner lies and tried to blame the killing he committed on Kerry, even though in his testimony Gardner lies and said Kerry wasn't even on the deck. Gardnber is also contradicted by the rest of the crew who are all truth-tellers with no axes to grind. So smearvets don't have a single eyewitness who fought by Kerry's side who is credible. And that first ad where they say "I served with JK" is a total lie. None of them did except a few from afar, and O'Neill never even met JK in Nam. Also remember, O'Neill (a proven liar) co-wrote that trashy book of lies with admitted extreme rightwing bigot Corsi, who condemns Catholics, Jews and gays on his website. So you can see the mentality. Guys so filled with hate they'll say anything. All the rest of the crap they claimed is all disproven too, including the story JK was never in Cambodia (O'Neill failed to tell us he was there too) and smearvets left out all the pro-Kerry testimony of the ten men Kerry actually fought with who don't lie, plus Jim Rasmussen, a lifelong Republican whose life Kerry saved. Not to mention all the top newspaper investigations, Max Cleland and all Navy records. Just as bad, smearvets use only cherry-picked details from JK's post-war activities, leaving out the bulk of it which proves Jk was a truth-telling moderate who was doing the right thing trying to ring that horrendous war to an end. And they lie that no atrocities were committed in Nam. What a crock. There were atrocities like the kid in the sampan every single day, and a lot worse too. And that doesn't even include the secret CIA assassination programs (Phoenix Program) the Swiftvets took part in by being the taxis for the SEALS and Green Berets. JK saw plenty of atrocities and his friends in the VVAW saw plenty more. JK was the messenger of bad news, so the rightwing of course, tried to kill the messenger. But that bad news helped wake people up and the that awful war. So Jk was a hero both in war and after.
